My mother ( 57 years old ) take medicine for high pressure , she made a cholesterol analysis and this is the result serum total cholesterol 209 serum triglycerides 86 HDL 44 LDL 148 VLDL 17 HDL RISK FACTOR 4.8 Is it necessary to take medicine for cholesterol

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

In simple words, LDL is a bad cholesterol & HDL is good cholesterol. Your LDL level is 148 & is slightly high. Your HDL is 44 & this is normal. Triglycerides are also normal. All togethar your cholesterol is slightly high.
I would suggest you to not start cholesterol controlling medicines such as statins. Dietary management of cholesterol is first advised. Consumption of cholesterol & saturated fats should be lowered. Intake of fibers in diet should also be increased.
